Creating 3D Sketch in Autodesk Inventor
Autodesk Inventor gives you a facility to create 3D sketch that can be used for creating sweep in 3D environment. To create a 3D sketch, choose 3D sketch tool from the Sketch panel of the 3D Model tab in the Ribbon. After selecting this tool, 3D sketch environment will be invoked and you can create a 3D sketch with help the 3D Sketch tools like Line, Spline, Helical Curve, and so on. Below figures shows 3D sketch created by using the Line tool and the sweep feature created by using this 3D sketch.

Introduces Joint connections in Autodesk Inventor 2014
Autodesk Inventor 2014 introduces Joint connections in the Assembly environment. It help you to control the motion of connecting parts. The Joint connections works same as Assembly constraints with the only difference that it allows the movement between connecting components in assembly. You can apply different types of joint connections such as Rigid, Rotational, Planar, Cylindrical, slider, and Ball joint connections. Below figure shows the Ball joint connection is applied between the parts. In the Ball joint, the movable component will be free to move in any direction with respect to the fix component.

Creating Smooth Curve Between Two Existing Sketched Entities in Autodesk Inventor
In Autodesk Inventor, you can create a smooth (G2) continuous curve between two existing curves. The existing curves can be arcs, lines, splines, or projected curves. To create a smooth curve, choose the Bridge Curve tool from the Draw panel of the Sketch tab in the Ribbon of Autodesk Inventor, you will be prompted to select the curves one after the other. Select both the curves; a smooth G2 continuous curve, known as bridge curve, will be created between the selected curves. The profile of the bridge curve depends on the position of the points selected. Below figure shows points of the curves selected for creating smooth curve between them and the resulting curve created.
